Home decor ideas – Rug / Ceiling

Hello all,

Let me start by thanking anyone that is taking the time to read this and maybe share a though, I really appreciate your help 🙂

This is my first time decorating a home by myself

I have been brainstorming a lot on what to do to this living room. It has a lot of space and potential, I'm loving the journey of adding and picking new items but I'm having a lot of trouble in committing to a rug and a ceiling light

I like mid century modern/ Scandinavian/ minimalist vibes and I was trying to get a bit of these styles together with random pieces that I like

I'm gonna try to summarize what I was thinking into 3 points, without over explaining a lot because I'm more interested in different people's feedback even if it's just a "that would work"

Rug- plain white rug OR plain orange rug OR white with orange pattern (stripes or shapes)

Ceiling light – IKEA Jarpliden OR IKEA Dykarklocka

Sofa – Blankets are still random pieces that I already had and I got no pillows but sometimes I feel like it is out of place with the rest of the space

I have a round oak coffee table in mind (almost same color of the floor) and plan on adding some wall art and shelf's
