I hate the side window treatments for this AC unit. They’re ugly and don’t really block the light and it’s become a patchwork of whatever we have to try to fill the gaps. Does anyone have ideas that are both good at blocking light and less horrible looking than what’s there?
(Not sure if it’s relevant but we may remove the blinds and add curtains though I hate to lose the view of the molding. But the curtain would still have to sit above the AC.)

Go to home depot and get some 1x2s and some trim and stain them to your liking. Frame them around it like little planks and then finish it off with the trim. It’ll look like its supposed to be there
