I'm terrible at picking colors and designs. I'd like something which compliments the floor and protects it from chairs moving in and out. Pine dents very easily. I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars but not thousands. I suspect I'll need a pad under it.
Please don't flame me for missing outlet covers. I'm in the process of updating outlets and switches.

I would go with a rag rug, either woven, crocheted or with knots. It’s rustic and would fit right in, you can even make it yourself with the exact measurements and with the colours of your choice.
Sage would be nice
