This beautiful sofa set came in yesterday and we realized it might be just too big with the chair included. Sucks bce the chair is my favorite piece but there is only one entrance and exit. Both sides of the sofas are almost touching the walls and hearth.. Is this setup okay or should we move the chair in another room?

I don’t see the chair. But the 2 sofas seem too much in the space. Is the little opening between them the only way in?

What if you tried arcing the furniture? Or having the chair angled in at the corner?

Move the two seater couch near the window back 30-40cm.

Get a large rug. You desperately need a rug in there to anchor the whole space.

What would you use the space for, if there wasn’t the big comfy furniture? It is only “too big” if it impacts the flow/egress or cannibalizes the space you need for storage/dining/etc.

You could try making your loving room “bigger”. Move the chair to the corner in front of the basket on the hearth, swap the couch and loveseat and back them up a bit. The only down side is you would probably have to remount your TV to center it again.

Edit: then it wouldn’t be centered between the windows either, but worth a try seeing what it looks like, either way there needs to be more pathways and allusion that the fireplace is real, in which case the loveseat is too close.

This is one of the rare times I’d put the TV over the fireplace if it works and then rotate the room.
