**Domaine Belluard Les Perles du Mont Blanc 2018**

    **Region:** Savoie, France

    100% Gringet

Purchased at Franklin Wines & Spirits in Brooklyn, NY

**Nose:** A very expressive and developed nose: hay, honey/beeswax, crunchy pear and apple, with dashes of mint and lime interwoven here. There’s a dense, autolytic character here, and everything is just very tight knit and bursting with expressiveness.

**Palate:** Medium-bodied, medium-acid, with all those bready, and honeyed notes coming to the forefront, followed by orchard fruit and citrus elements. There’s some gingerly spice thrown into the mix as well here. Precise, mineral, and racy, this is a beautiful sparkler with great richness of flavor without any dosage behind it.

**Additional Thoughts:** My first time having this cuvee was years ago, and I was astounded by how distinct this was for a grape I had never heard of. While not the hardest thing to track down, I wanted to share this bottle with my partner and relive the experience of tasting the cuvee again. Of the things I have reviewed since my return, this is the bottle that I would say one should 100% try while they still can, lovely stuff.

Nice. I drank my own Belluard, I think it was the very last vintage he had done. I kind of regret it, or at least wish I had doubled up.
