What an awesome drop for a northern Burgundy at this price point (AUD 90). Wild strawberry and great spice level. Some forrest floor in the middle and it did mellow as it was drunk (although fruit did drop off towards the end). Good acidity but it’s v drinkable now – 2021 vintage.

Yummy.

2021 was a rough year for Burgundy so hearing this is drinking well already is a good sign. Huguenot makes some solid Marsannay, I picked up a bottle of their 2020 a while back and it was a nice value compared to the Côte de Nuits stuff that costs 3x as much. The forest floor note showing up mid palate makes sense for the appellation, that’s kind of the signature thing you want from a Marsannay. How was the finish on yours, did it linger or kind of fade quick?
