As you can see, this studwall is not in great shape. Those spots are where I've had to remove flaking paint, and all along the top is where I've had to reapply joint tape.
The question is this: What could cause the paint to flake in perfectly vertical lines like this?
Context: 6 year old new build in the UK, no damp.
