Fantastic 2018 (H)ermitage! I thought I might be opening this a bit too soon, but boy was I wrong. This is drinking almost perfectly right now right out of the bottle. No air needed whatsoever. Been holding on to this for a few years and thought tonight was the perfect night to crack it. Glad I did. Steak tips coming to pair.
Typical gamey Syrah nose, along with cherries, raspberries, lemon zest or almost an orange blossom scent. Stunning.
Palate is a silky delicious blend of red fruit, white pepper, tiny bit of herbs.
I love Northern Rhone wines. Wife and I are heading to the area in 3 weeks, so this is a fantastic reminder of what we're in for!
