Our living room is wide and shallow (19’5Wx11’5”D) and enters from a small vestibule (pic 1). We’re planning to part with the oversized tv cabinet, and get either a 5.1 or at least 4.1 sound system. I am truly a hard no on tv over the fireplace, or sitting with my back to the fireplace, so our choices are:
1) the current wall but hung ON the wall or on a stand, console table beneath, couch centers tv on opposite wall as it is now, OR:
2) tv where bookcase is (relocate bookcase to another room), two couches facing each other and running parallel to the long walls, coffee table in between, so that when sitting you can enjoy the tv and the fireplace.
3) option 2 above but remove a shelf and put tv IN bookcase 🙌)
Option 2/3 adds more seating which this room sorely lacks. But it also blocks the path to the 2nd floor stairs which is across from the wall next to the fireplace. Such a weird room to arrange but it’s the only place for a tv. 🤷🏻♀️
