This fall, I got to visit Greg Pennington’s school for another windsor chairmaking class. While the class was aimed at building a modern rocking chair (look for that video in a few weeks), I used the evenings after class to build my first dining room chair using dry (rather than green) lumber. This walnut chair with a sculpted butternut seat came out fabulous, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I modelled the chair after a chair by Glenn Rundell and added modern bobbin style legs a’la Greg Pennington. This chair was a super fun build and I’m excited to share a few tricks and tips I learned along the way with you all.
