It looks a bit old styled. Can’t paint or change it (as we’re renting) but idk lamps and small plants?
I like plants and just a bit of pop colours here and there.
Idk, but something is really putting me off. Honestly any advice would be appreciated.

Take everything off the benches
I find this kitchen pretty cute! Nice wood cupboards. I would focus on limiting clutter on the counters. For example, switching out the knife block for a magnetic wall rack. You can also put things like dish soap in a cute reusable bottle.
Lastly that tile floor looks like it would benefit from a really thorough scrub. Barkeeper’s Friend was very effective on mine.
Pick a vibe to go after (strawberries or chickens are common kitchen themes that would look cute with the wood cabinets)
You can get decorative hand towels and if you’re going to have stuff on the counters, put more things in reusable containers. The easiest way to upscale a room is by putting products in different containers than they came in. Just make sure your containers match the theme you choose!
Declutter, get rid of the small garbage can (it looks like there’s a bigger one in pic 3?), put things away in the cabinets.
