So this is the first wine from Toro that I have had. I bought this from Costco for under $20.
As I understand it, the grape Tinta de Toro is a clone of Tempranillo and therefore are very similar.
On the nose, I get a lot of fruit (both dark and yet some bright ripe fruit notes too), some oak and very faint spice notes
On the palette, I get dark fruit, some dark chocolate and a long yet subtle spicy finish. Wine has decent acidity. I might detect some mesquite wood too.
One thing I noticed is this wine is quite tannic especially after being open for a couple hours.
I do not drink wine that often anymore so my tasting notes are not great but I liked this wine.
I look forward to drinking more Toro in the future.
