I'm a first-time homeowner and my house came with this built in electric fireplace, but it kinda gets in the way of a standard entertainment center. Should I put a shelf on the beam? I've seen some floating entertainment centers on Amazon too. Just need something for my Roku/Xbox. What do y'all think?
