My stairwell needs repainting- currently it’s a neutral white colour. I’m having strong cravings too go dark green but I’m not sure if this is a bad idea. The photos are ai visuals of different colours that I like. The whitish ones are before painting.
I love strong colours but my house does not get much natural light in despite lots of big windows, they are all indirect light. So I could be throwing the whole house into a cave like darkness. Should I run with that and embrace the dark?
The stairwell is the entry point of the house and has a bunch or artwork in there. So I’m ok with it being impactful. I’m also obsessed with green and we have a green kitchen (light eucalyptus/sage green) so I’m clearly biased towards green!
Tell me if you like it or not? Are there things I need to watch out for painting a dark colour, I’ve never painted walls anything other than light neutrals before. With dark colour paint what is recommended, matte, satin or gloss finish?
And one last question do I paint the ceiling the same?
