Enjoyed with dinner at Casaro Osteria in SF.
This Winery was started by the same people who run the Battery, a high end social club in San Francisco. Now I may not be rich enough to be a member there, but at least I can afford this bottle!
Gave this a solid decant and enjoyed over two hours.
Opened up nicely, showing nice acidity and fine grained tannins.
Got more plums and cassis, maybe some dried herbs, alongside slight dark chocolate. Not as much dark blue fruit as I would have expected.
Nice wine, paired well with risotto.
