First time hosting, first time posting notes.

Still pretty new to wine but have been enjoying white Burgundy so I had some friends over to share a couple of bottles.

The idea was to have a regional and 4 village wines, one from each sub-region.

Shoutout to u/rightanglerecording for the Saint-Veran recommendation!

**Bruno Dangin Cremant de Brougogne**

Nice, easy drinking. Had a pretty strong honey aroma and a nice yeasty / brioche-y note.

**Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blance Les Setilles 2022**

Technically the "regional" wine, though I think it's mostly declassified Puligny fruit?

Clear oak usage, sweet vanilla and some smoke. Then acidity and citrus notes like lemon peel quickly enter to balance it out. Really nice.

As the night went on, I kind of felt some "funk" in comparison to the other wines.

**Agnes Gleizes, Chablis 1er Cru Fourchame 2022**

Picked this up from KL for a pretty great price.

No oak, lots of acidity, steely, some citrus, not a very long finish.

Maybe overwhelmed by the other wines but I didn't get a ton from this.

**Dureuil-Janthial, Rully Blanc Chene 2022**

Also had clear oak usage like the Leflaive, less acidity and was less citrus forward than the Bourgogne blanc. Had more of a sweet, stonefruit, peach cobbler feel and a long finish.

**La Sourfrandiere, Saint Veran La Combe Desroches 2022**

Favorite wine of the night. Immediately stood out for having a fresh, crunchy, slightly green cantaloupe / rind aroma. Less oak than the Rully or the Leflaive, which I enjoyed and had fairly long finish that reminded me of grapefruit.

**Domaine Tessier, Meursault 2022**

I didn't pace myself too well so my notes are a little sparser here. Felt like it had the most oak and was a little harsh at first. As the night went on I recall it being more enjoyable, but I didn't get as much out of it as I'd hoped.

The Saint-Veran was by far my favorite wine of the night. The Rully was also very nice earlier on but I found it hard to differentiate it from the Meursault due to the oak. The Leflaive was a surprisingly good value and I hope to drink it more often. The Chablis was a bit disappointing, it felt like classic Chablis but just didn’t add much over village wines I’d had before. I'd rather have the Saint-Veran which had much more complexity.

The markdown didn’t work at all. Just copying it down here:
