How does this wall look? New to home decor, trying my hand at it.

IMO everything is a little too high and too symmetrical. The middle of the map should be 57-60” from the floor. The plants on the top shelf will need more sunlight. And the snake plants are a little too small to really make an impact.
I would get a console to place under the map. (This may make the height work a little better) but I would remove the shelves and plants except 1 snake plant for the console (if you get one)

I like the map, but there’s something that’s bugging me about the shelves …

As u/Humble_Guest4243 says, for one thing, they’re too high and too matchy-matchy symmetrical, especially with the planters and plants on the bottom corners.

The heights of things need to be staggered and made more … imperfect. I’d get rid of one of the plant stands on the bottom, get another one that’s taller, then put them both on the same corner with a third plant that’s taller to give some visual interest and height.

Same with the shelves, I’d lower the left one so that it’s about even with the top of the map, then lower the right one to maybe just above the equator on the map. Then put something different on the right hand one other than a perfectly matching plant.

    EDIT: clarified sentence

A pretty bench w/a little side table would work. Instead of the shelves and plants on the wall, some nicely framed pictures of places that you’ve had adventures to or visited hung around the map, would be nice.
