Houston’s most talked-about new Italian restaurant just opened… so I brought my Italian friend to see if it actually lives up 🇮🇹👀
We made it to Osteria di Mercato, a 24-seat, dinner-only spot from the team behind Mercato and Company. Super intimate, very date-night energy, and all about great food, wine, and conversation.
The kitchen is led by a Michelin-trained chef (French Laundry, Benu, Quince), and the menu is tight and elevated. The pasta is the star, with house-made dishes like agnolotti, chitarra, and a rich white bolognese, plus standout mains like branzino for two and hanger steak. Desserts are clean and balanced, with a chocolate Basque cheesecake that hits.
But the real question… does it pass an actual Italian’s standards?
Stay till the end to see how Laura ranked every dish 👇
