Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) famously said, “In the fields of observation chance favors only the prepared mind.” Pasteur brought to the study of chemistry, microbiology, and applied immunology, a mind open, innovative, and insightful. Born of peasant stock in the French Jura, he worked with dogged determination all his life and often in the face of strenuous opposition. Through an unbroken succession of rigorously designed and meticulously performed experiments, Pasteur developed veterinary vaccines and halted grievous losses in the French wine, silk, and dairy industries.

Louis Lumet (January 8, 1870 – December 5, 1923) is a French writer and activist born in Issoudun and died in Paris. Born in Issoudun. Louis Joseph Lumet was the son of Jean-Baptiste Lumet and Louise Dérouet. According to his military record, he was “a man with an oval face, brown hair and eyes.” An insurance employee measuring 1.68 meters, he was exempted from military service , then deferred again in 1892, and finally discharged in 1893. He was interested in literature, history, sociology, theatre and decorative arts.
Louis Lumet began his literary career alongside Saint-Georges de Bouhélier and Eugène Montfort , during the Dreyfus Affair . He was a friend of Albert Fleury and Charles-Louis Philippe .April 1895 He created a small magazine, L’Enclos, founded with the help of his young friends, which lasted four years, but from which he distanced himself fromMay 1897Charles-Louis Philippe published his first two books there: Quatre Histoires de pauvre amour (1897) and La Pauvre Marie et Bonne Madeleine. Léon Frapié, Jean Baffier , J.-G. Prod’homme , Léon Riotor, Albert Lantoine, Hugues Lapaire , René Ghil, the Pelloutier brothers, Lucien Jean collaborated on L’Enclos.
