Paris is a world-class city — but also one that to millions is simply home. On this adventure, we’re going local. We start at the city’s proud symbol, the Eiffel Tower, then cruise the Seine before exploring a few distinctive neighborhoods. We visit the market for fresh food and flowers, window-shop along trendy streets, and cap our tour with a nighttime ride through the sparkling City of Light. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #paris

  1. The real charm of Paris often seems to live between the landmarks – in the neighborhoods, markets, and ordinary moments.

  2. Although a bit romantised, it also kind of is like this, just got to ignore the big city noise and scammers near the tourist sites.

  3. I used to watch all hjs European videos until he came out as a Trump hating partisan Democrat. Now I watch occasionally. Stick to tourism, not politics.

  4. Thank you Rick! Great timing… my husband and I are taking a Viking River Cruise beginning May 1st from Zurich to Trier, and then onto Paris where we will spend 5 days.

  5. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤thanks Rick for taking us along the history of Paris, their life style, their beautiful flowers 🌺🌹🌺 gardens 🏡, parks , cheese 🧀🍕🧀 shops, beef 🍖🍖 shop, farmers outlets , talking with people ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I have never traveled to Paris but I do on YouTube 😂😂😂🎉🎉

  6. This was a very happy surprise to get another great RS visit to Paris. Beautiful and thanks for continuing to bring us your great perspectives.

  7. The Eiffel Tower. “Near and dear to the Parisians?” The Parisians hate it, I can assure you. Sort of like saying “Times Square is near and dear to New Yorkers.” Yeah, right. Learnt, this is not serious stuff, great for selling mass tourism

  8. A tour (á la tour) to be enjoyed. I stayed on La Rue des Martyrs near Notre Dame de Loret and walked up the slope across Bvd Clichy and up the steps to Sacre Coeur. Wonderful sights of the Marais and Montmarte.Merci Steve et à bientôt.

  9. Paris is great, but the last time we went, we tried SO hard not to be standard “ugly Americans” and it didn’t help. We toned down the sportswear, kept our voices low, made sure we said, “Bonjour/S’il vous plait/Merci,” approached the locals gingerly and weren’t grabby or pushy.

Alas, the coldness went well beyond mere formality. They’re a tough crowd.
