Join me for a Lyon food tour as I explore the city that’s often called the “gastronomic capital of France” 🇫🇷

This day is all about incredible French food, from a simple “morning coffee and croissant run” to tasting some of Lyon’s most famous (and surprising!) delicacies at the legendary “Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse”.

Along the way, I try oysters and frog for the first time, and indulge in one of the best desserts I’ve ever had 🍰. But it’s not just about food — I also explore the beautiful streets of Lyon, cross the Saône River, and wander through the stunning “Old Lyon”, one of the best-preserved Renaissance districts in Europe.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a bit of travel drama. Expect train delays, cancellations, and a bit of chaos along the way 🚆

If you like my videos, please spread the word – and let’s build a great channel!

This channel is a record of my explorations, both local and further afield. In my twenties I travelled a great deal, clocking up over 50 countries in Western and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. My favourites so far have been the Philippines, Moldova, Pakistan and Lithuania, but I can enjoy myself practically anywhere. If I’m interested in something or somewhere, it takes a lot to stop me from going there. Now that I’m in my 50s and the children are just about grown up, my opportunity to travel has returned with a vengeance! Hopefully I’ll be accompanied by my wife for some trips.

In making videos for this channel I hope to share my excitement about this wonderful world – cultures, people, landscapes, food, museums, history, architecture, different ways of life. There’s so much that nobody can do all of it. Just as the videos of other people have inspired me, I hope my journeys will inspire you, whether you can actually travel the world yourself or just get a taste of it via my videos.

I look forward to having you with me!
