A Fresh, Complex Grenache with Lifted Acidity
Description:
Hongell Grenache by Frederick Stevenson is a beautifully balanced red that showcases both freshness and complexity. Made from Grenache and clocking in at 14% ABV, this wine is fermented in large neutral French puncheons, allowing gentle oxygen exposure without heavy oak influence. The result is a vibrant, expressive wine with depth, structure, and surprising freshness even with a few years of age.
Tasting Notes:
Bright and aromatic with layers of sour cherry, cranberry, and red currant, complemented by orange zest, red licorice, sage, and thyme. Despite its age, it remains lively and fruit-forward, with a beautiful lift of acidity. Medium-bodied with medium tannins, it’s well-rounded and energetic, finishing clean with a slightly tart, refreshing edge.
Pairings:
Grilled lamb, roasted vegetables, Mediterranean dishes, charcuterie, and beef-based meals.

Why We Love It:
