Château Montrose, Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, France. Black olive, graphite, that classic Saint-Estèphe edge straight away. The colour still bright, holding its line, and the wine feels alive and structured. There’s a firmness here—cabernet doing its thing—but it’s layered with savoury detail rather than just power. This is Bordeaux in a serious mood, but still giving plenty back. BYO is always available at FIX WINE BAR + RESTAURANT, Sydney, Australia.

Aldi wine! The cheep one
Great wine indeed, 2009 was a wild year. Just for your information you do not prononce the T in Montrose.
