Is Disney Cruise Line food actually “top-tier,” or is it just a lot of hype? 🚢 In 2026, the dining landscape across the fleet—from the Disney Magic to the brand-new Disney Destiny—is more divisive than ever! Today, we are ranking the most loved and most hated dishes onboard, including the controversial Pirate Night Menu and the high-end specialty experiences.

We’re breaking down the legendary Palo (and the new Palo Steakhouse) to see if it’s still worth the upcharge, why the deck pizza is so polarizing, and which main dining room dishes are a total skip. We also dive into the Disney Destiny 5-Night itinerary changes—did you know the Pirate Menu might be skipped? From the Smoked Salmon at Animator’s Palate to the famous Tiana’s Place Beignets, we are giving you the “Pro Tips” to ensure every meal is a win.

  1. I haven't sail yet but I'll order something that I'm familiar with in case I get sick.

  2. Thanks for the shout out. For pirate night, I usually get the crab cake and the carrot and cilantro soup. I tried the mango soup once; not a fan.

  3. Great video:) On our upcoming Disney Wonder cruise Im going to be eating more surf, less turf. The seafood options look tasty. Trying that Brie too, hopefully melty:)

  4. The biggest let down at Palo, for me was the lasagna. To me it was just a square of paste. There was almost no texture and seemed to be just a blob of bechamel. I also can't stand the French onion soup. It's my favorite soup and I order it every sailing, yet every sailing it is the biggest let down. It ranges from salt water broth to dishwater and never has a good flavor. I have 3 sailings booked and I've decided to give up on DCLs French onion soup. I used to hate pirate night menu and have absolutely grown to love it. The mang soup grew on me and I always order two crab cakes. I'm gonna miss it on the Destiny this November if they are taking it away.

  5. We have done 19 Disney cruises since 2012 and in my opinion the food quality has gotten progressively worse on the whole. Meat is either overcooked or barely cooked. Hot foods rarely served hot. Menus have changed little over the years and there are too many instances of apparently feeling that number of ingredients is more important than flavor.

  6. Chicken parm is not my go to. Why would you eat that in a restaurant. Almond croissants are beyond delis.
