French breakfast is simpler than you might think 🥐

Hotels, B&Bs, and cafés in France often serve le petit déjeuner like this as part of a continental breakfast.

– une corbeille de viennoiseries — a basket of breakfast pastries
– les viennoiseries — breakfast pastries (e.g. croissant, pain au chocolat)
– du pain — bread
– la pâte feuilletée — puff pastry
– du beurre — butter
– le sucre — sugar
– le café — coffee

These viennoiseries were served at the @Ritz Paris, one of the most iconic breakfasts in the city.

And oui, they were excellent. But some of my favorite croissants in Paris are actually found in small neighborhood boulangeries (bakeries).
