Welcome back to Wine Unfiltered!

This week, we’ve got an absolutely massive lineup of booze. We kick things off with a 2023 Chablis showdown between a heavyweight producer (William Fevre) and a cult renegade (Samuel Billaud). Then, we dive into some epic 2025 Pinot Noir from the bearded legend Bill Downie.

To apologise for Wade’s disparaging comments on Shiraz last week, we open three of the Barossa’s absolute best: John Duval’s ‘Entity’, a brand new Spinifex Syrah, and our first look at Sami-Odi’s ‘Our Hill’ Syrah.

In Booze News, we cover a tragic gold mine taking over Victorian vineyards, the French government paying €130 million to rip up Bordeaux vines, and Kylie Minogue dominating the UK wine market. Plus, Wade cooks Getting Blind and Tom completely bombs his Barbecue Blind Ranking.

  1. I know what you mean about W. Fèvre, sold a lot of it yet never tasted it – until last month when I visited. Really good style, but when we tasted a 1er Cru in '23 and looked back onto the same in '19, I realized they really profit from some ageing to open up properly.
