🍞 French Toast Tips from Chef Shefali 🍯

Want perfectly golden, fluffy French toast every time? Chef Shefali shares a few simple tips that make all the difference. Start with thicker slices of bread — and if it’s slightly stale, even better, as fresh bread tends to get soggy. Let the bread soak well in the mixture, then cook it on a medium-heat pan for even browning.

One important tip: don’t press the toast while it’s cooking, or the custard will seep out. And for that extra touch of flavour, sprinkle a little sugar on top to create a beautiful caramelized finish. ✨

  1. Thick stale bread? That's it? That's the advice? My Mom taught me that 50+ years ago. I add a little sugar to the custard, so no sprinkling needed. I was hoping for more, like length of time, Signs it was done etc.😢
