In this video, I compare Cos d’Estournel and Montrose side by side across three outstanding Bordeaux vintages — 2005, 2010, and 2016 — using bottles from my own cellar to see how they are drinking today and where my preference lands.
Saint-Estèphe’s clay-rich soils, cooler personality, and ageing potential make it one of the most distinctive appellations of the Médoc. These two Second Growths consistently sit at the top of the hierarchy — often challenging First Growth territory in great years.

I love your channel and recently subscribed. Your tone and cadence of your voice is immaculate. I have a case of 2005 Cos. I have opened 3 bottles already and I think the 2005 vintage is going to take a long long time for being ready. The 2005 will last 60 or 70 years, who knows as it is already 20 years and drinks like a 2020 vintage. I would like to suggest if you could appear on the videos, it is nice for us to see who is the guy we are following. Maybe just a photoon the corner or a small cameothat will show not only your arm but your face. Also, it would be nice to know where are you making this videos, what country , France perhaps? Thanks for the video.
