For five bucks, Trader Joe’s Organic Double Chocolate Batard is a great buy if you like moderately sweet artisanal breads. Imported from France, this bread is dense, chocolatey, and very elegant. The outside gets crisp and lightly crunchy while the inside stays soft and chewy. The dark chocolate chips make the bread sweet but not overly decadent. It feels like a breakfast treat rather than a dessert. Would buy again.
