In this video, I share a selection of wines I bought at very reasonable prices — bottles whose value has since climbed dramatically, each for very different reasons.

These aren’t trophies or investment advice. They’re wines I’ve lived with, followed over time, and opened with friends and family — where the real reward is always at the table.

🍷 Wines featured from my cellar:

00:06 Tip on Collecting Wine
01:22 Chambertin — Domaine Armand Rousseau 2011
02:36 Échezeaux — Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux 2012
03:36 Pomerol — Petrus 2009
04:21 Margaux — Château Margaux 2004
05:18 Champagne — Salon Blanc de Blancs “Cuvée S” 2002
06:11 Champagne — Jacques Selosse “Substance”
07:09 Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux — Château Le Puy “Cuvée Émilien” 2010

For each bottle, I look at:
– what I paid at the time
– how and why prices moved so dramatically
– and how these wines are actually drinking today

While market values can be interesting, the real pleasure comes from opening these bottles and sharing them — enjoyed not as financial assets, but as living expressions of place, time, and good fortune.

  1. I recall getting 81 Lafites for $50 a bottle, 83 Margaux also at $50ish… and I thought they were outrageous prices back then !
