I don’t even know what to call this? French Onion Soup Casserole? French Onion Soup Bread Pudding? Whatever it is, it’s insanely good. Layers of cheesy goodness and perfect for a cold Winter’s day #cooking #eating #food #recipe #recipes

  1. I know this is unrelated to this post, but I wanted to say that I made your 'Chicken au Poivre' for supper tonight and OMG it was out of this world! And hands down the easiest way to spatchcock a chicken ever! 10/10. Had to let you know.
Also, this looks like my next thing to try. Thank you 🙏

  2. Here's a quick cabbage side dish:

    Slice cabbage wedge thinly.
    Fry in butter,
Add caraway seed & salt and pepper.
    Stir fry for 5-7 minutes.

Would go good with a Corn Beef sandwich, or Pierogi's, or just by itself, it's delicious.

  3. Would this be called a strata? It looks amazing. Is there a link to the recipe?

  4. This is how I think the best peasant food is made in the world. Use what you have, nothing goes to waste…Dinner is served! 😊

  5. Peasant casserole! I love it….all my favorite humble ingredients in one pot. What more could anyone ask for on a cold, snowy Wisconsin Sunday? Yuuuum!

  6. I just found your reels when I saw 'A German dish called Heaven and Earth" – omg. And now this? You are my type of cook – Bless you! from an 85+ yr old cook.

  7. I kind made something like that last night (only low carb): I was cooking a leg quarter in cast iron, and I just added too much onion in the pan, tossed in some chicken stock, then shrugged, added a some garlic powder, black pepper, and a quarter of a cream cheese block and slid it into the oven. Stirred halfway through, then stirred at the end, with a few minutes under the broiler after finishing with heavy cream and a sprinkle of shredded parm.

  8. Reminds me of my wallet’s leaner days when I would take 1/2 sleeve of saltines crushed into a bowl, then ladle chicken soup over them. Was a filling meal for cheap. 😊
