Once called the “poor man’s fruit,” French chestnuts (châtaignes) got a makeover when people started calling them marrons (horse chestnuts) to sound more appealing. But beware: real horse chestnuts are actually poisonous ⚠️🌰
🔍 So, how can you tell them apart? Châtaignes have prickly husks and always come in threes inside, while horse chestnuts have smaller husks and thicker needles.
