Recipe:
80g Unsalted butter
2 large onions
2 cloves of garlic
2 sprigs of thyme
1 bay leaf
30g dark brown sugar
65ml port/madeira
500ml water
3 tbsp Nutra organics beef bone broth
(homestyle)
Roasted chestnuts (optional)
Toasted baguette
Gruyere (must)
Pecorino (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley
Slice onions thinly
Mince garlic
Melt butter in medium pot and cook onions, garlic with thyme and bay leaf until.
caramelised.
Add in brown sugar, caramelise further then add water with nutra organics bone broth.
Simmer until thickened and season with salt pepper to liking.
Assemble in a bowl and broil in oven at 220C. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Enjoy, because I did. Onion soup is heaven for winter.
