If you like French onion soup, this French Onion Burger recipe is for you!🧅

Ingredients:

2 packets Dan-O’s Dips French Onion
2½ pounds 80/20 ground beef
2 medium-large yellow onions, sliced longways relatively thin
½ stick butter, divided
2 tbsp olive oil, divided
1 oz Kentucky bourbon
4 burger buns
4 slices baby Swiss cheese

Directions:

1. Mix the burger meat
Add the ground beef to a bowl.
Mix in 1 1⁄2 packets of Dan-O’s Dips French Onion until well combined.
Set burger meat aside.

2. Cook the French onion onions (low and slow)
Heat a pan on high.
Add ¼ stick butter and 1 tbsp olive oil.
Add the onions and cook for about 3 minutes.
Add the Kentucky bourbon.
Stir in the remaining ½ packet Dan-O’s Dips French Onion.
Cover, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 30 minutes.

3. Form the patties
Divide the meat into 4 equal portions and roll into burger balls.
Place a burger ball on parchment paper; top with another parchment sheet.
Press with the flat bottom of a plate to form an even patty.
Repeat for all patties.

4. Toast the buns
Heat a griddle until hot.
Add the remaining olive oil and butter.
Toast buns cut-side down until golden. Set aside.

5. Cook the burgers
Place patties on the hot griddle.
Cook for a couple minutes, then flip.
Continue cooking until they’re nearly done.

6. Top with onions + baby Swiss
Spoon the cooked French onion onions onto each burger.
Top each with 1 slice baby Swiss and let it melt.

7. Build and serve
Place burgers on toasted buns and serve hot. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!

  1. You will most certainly have to stir those onions. Not sure why he didn't mention this but they'll stick to the bottom and burn, even with the lid.

    I've already tried the Danos burgers and I absolutely love them….time to take it to the next level 😊

  3. 26:50 it is not in fact a "girl thing" to not understand thunder and lightening. I feel pity for whoever she's "homeschooling". Sometimes its okay to not tell people when we have (lets call it) gaps in intelligence.😮‍💨 remember when we used to have secrets?

  5. My grandpa has done the burger press hack for over 60 years. Such a great way to make evenly pressed but not over worked burgers.
