In this Disney World vlog we review bottomless Sunday brunch at California Grill – a fine dining restaurant set at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This 2 table service credit meal consists of a self-service buffet, a main entree, and bottomless mimosas. For an additional fee you can create your own bloody mary from a choice of several toppings and an array of hot sauces! (and yes, Aaron does cave and pay the $10 for a bloody Mary, which we will show you!).
The self-service buffet consists of bourbon baba cakes, a charcuterie, devilled eggs, salads, quiche, greek yogurt (with the best honeycomb EVER), smoked salmon and smoked fish dip, and – last but not least – bottomless sushi! We had more than our fair share of nigiri and Spicy Tuna Tekka Maki Rolls. California Grill is apparently known for their sushi, and now that we have tried it we can see why.
For entree you can choose from a selection of dishes including pancakes, pineapple-coconut stuffed French toast, plant-based green shakshuka, blackened gulf shrimp, eggs benedict, omelette, bison burger, steak and eggs, and chicken chilaquiles. In this vlog we show you the lobster eggs benedict (which consisted of two soft-poached eggs, toasted English muffin, orange-honey ham, and Hollandaise sauce. You could also choose smoked salmon instead of lobster), and steak and eggs, which was served with charred tomato barbeque sauce and lime aioli, and the most delicious hash brown ever!
The servers at California Grill brunch never rushed us, and we spent around 3 hours drinking mimosas (and the bonus bloody mary) and taking our time to sample the various self-service selections. There is so much choice at the brunch at the top that there should be something for everyone. If you need a break from the food, then you can take your mimosas out onto the viewing platform, where you can gaze over Magic Kingdom, the surrounding monorail resorts, and even the Epcot ball (at a distance!). Sunday brunch at California Grill is 2 table service credits on the Disney Dining Plan, or $80 per adult and $48 per child if you’re paying out of pocket.
Once we had finished our spectacular brunch we left california grill and spent the rest of the afternoon at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, where we (perhaps unwisely) had fastpasses for Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger spin on a full stomach. Magic Kingdom is an easy 5 minute walk from Disney’s Contemporary Resort, so it was a good option for our afternoon after we had filled up on bottomless brunch!
We hope you enjoyed our review of Disney’s California Grill brunch! If you would like to see any more vlogs from our trip to Walt DIsney World (and Universal Studios), then you can find out Florida playlist here:
