I love feeding my family, but there’s something special about cooking with family! My brother Jackson drove in from Florida and we made some rich and custardy French toast that is surprisingly easy then added a light whipped yogurt spread with fruit that took this to an entirely new level. Hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed making it!

Ingredients
• 8-10 slices Texas toast
• 3 large eggs
• 2 large egg yolks
• ½ cup whole milk
• ½ cup heavy cream
• 2 Tbsp brown sugar
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• ¾ tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp kosher salt
• 2 tsp bourbon (or rum)
• Butter or neutral oil for cooking

Instructions
1. Dry the bread by letting slices sit out 20–30 minutes OR bake at 300°F for 6–8 minutes, flipping once.
2. Whisk eggs and yolks until smooth.
Add milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and bourbon or rum. Whisk thoroughly.
3. Put griddle or pan on low or medium to low heat. Add 1 Tbsp butter + 1 tsp oil.
4. Soak toast 10–12 seconds per side and let excess drip off.
5. Cook 3–4 minutes per side until deep golden brown.

Keep warm in 200°F oven if needed.

PART 2: Whipped Cream Cheese Yogurt Spread

Ingredients
• ¼ cup heavy cream (cold)
• 2 oz cream cheese, softened
• 2–3 Tbsp Greek yogurt
• 1–2 Tbsp powdered sugar
• ½ tsp vanilla
• Pinch salt

Optional: Fresh berries for topping

Instructions
1. Beat heavy cream to soft peaks and set aside.
2. Beat cream cheese, yogurt, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until completely smooth.
3. Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until light and airy.
(I’ve also just dumped everything together and whipped in a hurry and not had a lot of issues but sometimes it doesn’t see to work right just dumping and blending)

  1. Thanks for sharing. So good see Jackson. Love some good French toast. Just have to leave the fruit off. Just heard about Mama Jane prayer for her. She just a sweet lady❤

  2. Hi Zach, this recipe for French toast looks amazing. I never thought of drying out the bread in the oven; that's a great tip. I am definitely going to make this recipe. French toast is a family favorite. I made your chocolate lava cake for Valentine's Day and it was delicious!! I really enjoyed this video and it was great to see you cooking with Jackson.
Take care and God bless 🙏

  3. Stuffed French toast with mini omelets you could make a bunch of scrambled eggs pour it on the Blackstone then toss on some random veggies meats n cheeses oh so good !!!!

  4. Hello there brother Zach and Jackson. It is always a pleasure seeing you guys and watching your awesome videos 📸📷. This looks so delicious 😋🤤

  5. Good Morning Zach! What time is breakfast served? That french toast looks sooooooo good! Wish you could send me a plate by drone to Oklahoma! Looks so beautiful and peaceful in the background! Have a blessed Sunday. Love y'all and God Bless!❤️

  6. OK, I noticed zach treated the younger brother like a younger brother when you got the girls on and the oldest siblings it’s like maybe mutual respect but with Jackson being the younger siblings, you’re more like get this egg stir this now get that stack that I love it. You can tell the different dynamics in the relationship relationships

  7. You surprised me when you added brown sugar. Other than that our recipes match. I'll be trying your version next time I make this! Good to see the brothers cooking! I have 6 sons and half of them are chefs like you!

  8. Can’t wait to try this! Found another recipe called “best French toast” so we’ll see which one wins! Yours just might come out ahead! 😊 Will you be coming out with a recipe book? You should!

  9. I love your videos. Suggestion, you should see if Warden and Trace can help you build a pergola for your patio then when you cook outside you would be in the shade.

  10. In my almost 70 years I have never eaten French toast this way and I will make it my very next time. Looks delicious.

  11. I can’t believe I’ve been watching your family for so long that I can remember when you rear-ended the bus in the van when you were on your way to Texas and now here you are with gray hairs in your beard. 🥹🙌😆
