What to do with grape waste? Can it be turned from trash into a resource, from litter into cosmetics or health products? A smart project involving Italy, France, Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia – under the European Neighbourhood Instrument Cross-Border Cooperation Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme – is working to make it happen. The idea behind the project is to exploit the innovation potential of the Mediterranean traditional crop to transform it into a commercial product, generating business and employment opportunities as well as reducing the environmental pollution produced by the bulky waste of wine making.
