In this episode we visit 2 Melbourne bakeries that make some unique items. We tried a vegemite inspired fusion which shocked us. If you don’t like vegemite you will love it after one bite and if you do love it you’ll be lining up like all the locals. Additionally we visit Lumos bakery which will leave chocolate lovers in awe!

  1. Another great episode!! Haven’t you ever had a cheese and Vegemite sandwich?? I think it’s part of every Aussie childhood lol

  2. From the title I was expecting the white chocolate and Vegemite gelato at Fluffy Torpedo which you checked out a while back!

  3. damn these all look amazing – if you want more Vegemite goodness try our Heart Coffee in Richmond! They do these cheesymite, cinnamon and truffle scrolls that are unreal and fresh the early you get there. Love the videos guys well done

  4. Chris, to make it easier, could you please post a link up to your YouTube channel ? I can’t locate it because of the number 3 you have used in place of the E makes it difficult to find your channel. Thanks 😊👍

  5. Oh I love a good Bakery. My bathroom scales got thrown out for telling lies about bakeries.
Today's takeaway: save your tomato sauce for the savouries, not the sweet treats.

  6. I think a trip to Mackinnon is in order 🙂 Btw, there's another good bakery Artisanal Bakehouse nearby in Bentleigh. For Brighton, other great bakery cafes are Andreas (European pastries & cakes) and Bakehouse by Vic (NYC style including banana pudding).

  7. You guys picked some good bakeries!

The vegemite and cheese combo in baked goods is a favourite and a great way to introduce someone to vegemite for the first time. Can remember being in the Grampians with family, kids were after a vegemite and cheese scroll which they’d had on a previous holiday, and the Halls Gap bakery was happy to do a fresh batch for them.

  8. Your mate Chris got so excited about confit garlic that I counted 8 times that he mentioned it in the video, haha.

  9. Vegemite twists were the first cooking experience as a child in the 80s…I still tell my kids how good they are today. 😁 Ps. Poppy/sesame seeds combo on the top…chef's kiss.

  10. Lane, try Vegemite on toast with garlic butter, avo and a fried egg, it will change your mind, best breaky combo!

  11. Look gents, I really don’t leave this comment lightly. Do a sausage role episode and go to “back ally bakes” Coburg. It really is, in my opinion the BEST sausage roll in the world. I’m being dead serious. It’s a must go bakery.

  12. After watching this episode my wife and I were extremely hungry. I am a Vegemite kid and would devour that pastry. To put it in to context I eat Vegemite on toast like people would eat peanut butter or jam. Another great episode guys.
