This is Julien, the French winemaking guy who makes wine videos here on YouTube. Yes! Wine Videos…
We are looking at how to pronounce the name of this famous wine style, made from dried red grapes in the North of Italy near the city of Verona. Because the grapes are dried up before fermentation, this is a type of red wine with rich and powerful flavors of dark red berries, berry jams and prune with ample body, rich texture and smooth tannins.
We are looking at how to pronounce Amarone, and even more, how to say the complete name: Amarone della Valpolicella.
How not to pronounce Amarone della Valpolicella? That would be Amaron deela Valpoliceela. Amaron deela Valpoliceela? No!
No, Amarone della Valpolicella. Note that you have to pronounce the e at the end of Amarone. Then Della, insisting on the double L, because in Italian when there is a double L you have to pronounce it clearly. Finally, Valpolicella, with an accentuation on the E, and again marking clearly the double L. Amarone della Valpolicella
Amarone della Valpolicella. With a typical Italian pronunciation, say Amarone della Valpolicella. Amarone della Valpolicella. Amarone della Valpolicella.
