We’re hunting gluten-free thrills on a chilly stretch of Bloor Street West because today’s adventure is all about pastries you can eat without playing cross-contact roulette. In this video, Clover (Celiac, therefore professionally paranoid) and Loop (behind the camera, occasionally covered in custard) visit Gluten Free by l’Artisan: a dedicated gluten-free and dairy-free bakery in Toronto serving classic French-style pastries.
We went later in the day and the display case was already showing the Sunday battlefield scars, but we still managed a proper haul: puff pastry sausage rolls, chocolate croissant, spanakopita, an apricot Danish situation that behaves like a glitter bomb, eclairs, tarts, and more. If you’re gluten-free (celiac or otherwise) and you’ve been craving that actual flaky pastry experience, this one’s for you.

Bonus fun fact: one of Toronto’s other gluten-free bakeries, Cock-A-Doodle-Doo GlutenFree Bakeshop, is right across the street lol
