I can appreciate good home decor but me nor my wife have any talent with it. I have been lurking in this sub for years and am just blown away with how good some of yall are at home decor. It makes me want to just give up on the idea of making my home decor more cohesive haha.
My wife and I have moved 8 times in the past decade (for work/school reasons) and have finally settled in a home. I have tried to make this large living/dining space feel warm and cozy but it just feels kind of cluttered and incohesive. (ignore the white couch cushions for now I'm washing the covers for those).
The pieces we've added since buying the home are the rug, couch, tables, and wall decor. The rest are things we've accumulated along the way.
What are some semi-inexpensive ways to improve the space? The style I always love the most is like wood grain/forest green vibes. If that's the right way to explain it.

Adding plants. Maybe paint an accent wall
Paint the walls a different colour, a warm colour. The cold grey isnโt very cosy. Also look for different art above the sofa, unless you love what you have and got it for a special reason go for something else; a wooden carving or maybe a tapestry or fabric wall hanging. The pictures seem a bit soulless and generic. And gets some ferns and other plants that thrive in low light.
throw a party invite 20 people or more.. Super bowl is this weekend.
