Join me in my French kitchen to make Normandy Chicken. Using fresh, local ingredients. an Easy and Delicious recipe that is sure to please.
Ingredients
8 Chicken pieces (thighs/drumsticks)
75g bacon lardons (or chopped streaky bacon)
500ml (hard) cider
50ml Calvados/Brandy (optional)
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
2 medium eating apples peeled and sliced
sprig of fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
1 bayleaf
200g creme fraiche/heavy cream
1 Chicken stock cube
250ml water
2 x 25g knobs of butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons flour
1 heaped teaspoon dijon mustard
salt and pepper
