This Butter Gochujang French Beans with Soft Eggs is one of those simple, fridge-clearing dishes that turns out way better than expected.
Crisp French beans are cooked in butter, garlic, habanero, and gochujang, then folded with soft scrambled eggs and finished with toasted sesame oil.
Spicy, buttery, savoury, and comforting.
Perfect with hot rice, or served as a side with fried chicken or wings.
🛒 Ingredients
400 g French beans, washed and cut bite-size
¼–½ bottle gochujang (adjust to taste)
2 Tbsp butter
5 cloves garlic, crushed
3 habaneros, sliced
2–4 Tbsp water
4 eggs
Salt, to taste
White pepper
Honey, optional
Toasted sesame seeds
👩‍🍳 Method
Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add garlic and habanero, sauté until fragrant.
Stir in gochujang and deglaze with a little water.
Add French beans, toss well, and season lightly with salt and white pepper.
Create a space in the centre and add the eggs.
Let them set slightly, then gently stir and fold into the beans.
Finish with toasted sesame oil and sesame seeds.
Serve hot with rice.

Serve with steamed rice and fried turmeric chicken wings, or enjoy as a simple one-pan meal.
