Great recommendation! For those who do not want to battle the traffic and parking situation of downtown, but you still desire the same French pastries featured at this bakery, I would recommend Common Bond. They have all the pastries that Shawn featured in this video, including the delectable Kouign-amann. The quality maybe better at Madammoiselle Louise, given that it is run by a real pastry chef from France. With that said, the quality of Common Bond is still pretty good, and they have multiple locations throughout the Houston area, making it a bit more convenient.
