Most restaurants post it online. See what they actually focus on. Is it Italy? Natural wines? Big Napa stuff? It instantly tells you what they’re good at.
2️⃣ Look at the food first.
What grows together usually goes together. Italian food equals Italian wine. French bistro equals French wine. Don’t overthink it.
3️⃣ Talk to the somm (or server).
Share what you normally enjoy and be clear if you want to stay in your comfort zone or explore something new. This is literally their job.
