The wine – Aldi wine of the week – Fleurs Sauvage Sauvignon Blanc – This is a nice tasting wine, with notes of peach and vanilla. It has a finish that lingers a little but isn’t bitter or unpleasant.
750ml / £4.99 (normally £7.99) / 10.5% abv
The Cheese – Emporium French Goats Cheese. The cheese is soft and slightly crumbly; it spreads nicely on crackers. It has a good, rich, creamy taste.
150g / £1.99
So, how would I score this wine and cheese?
The wine gets an 8/10 – decent flavour, nice finish.
The cheese gets a 7/10 – creamy and crumbly, but a little one-dimensional in flavour.
