Is this the ultimate “Wine Lover’s Bourbon”? 🍷🥃
In this Short, we dive into a truly unique bottle from the Neeley Family Distillery: the Old Jett Brothers Amarone & New Toasted French Oak (TFO) Finish. This expression was finished for seven months in a combination of Italian Amarone wine casks and toasted French oak, bottled at a perfect 100 proof.
While the nose is dominated by lush grape and red wine notes, the palate delivers a complex journey. We found it incredibly well-balanced—it never loses its bourbon identity despite the heavy wine influence. Watch as we uncover hidden notes of French vanilla, sweet oak, and even a surprising hint of coffee on the finish.
This was a rare “charity barrel” find at the distillery, and it might be one of the most drinkable bottles we’ve ever reviewed.
What we’re tasting:
* The Nose: Forward grape and wine notes with a hint of grain.
* The Palate: A “scary good” blend of bourbon sweetness and red wine richness.
* The Finish: Sweet French oak and a touch of roasted coffee.
