  1. French Onion Soup ⬇️

    Shopping List:

    6 yellow onions, sliced
    1 stick butter
Onion Butter (find at Walmart, Publix and Amazon)
    4 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 packet au jus mix
2 Tbsp sherry vinegar (or lemon juice)
    Crostini (toasted baguette slices)
    Gruyère slices (optional)
    Provolone slices

Cut onions in half, from tip to tail, then slice thinly.

In a large pot over low heat, melt butter and add onions.

Add a good shake of Onion Butter and chopped garlic. Caramelize, gently stirring every minute. This can take up to 45 minutes.

Taste the onions when they become translucent and amber-colored. They should be sweet and savory.

Add the au jus packet, 1 cup of water and the sherry vinegar. Bring to medium heat and stir until evenly incorporated.

    Set oven to broil.

Ladle soup into oven-friendly bowls and top with crostini, followed by 2 slices of cheese. Place bowls on a sheet pan and place in oven to melt cheese.

When cheese is golden and bubbly, it’s ready to pull, cool and EAT!
