Pronounced Mar-tar-ngee. Matangi is wind — an element that moves constantly across Whenua Awa, strengthening the vines and shaping the
character of our Chardonnay.
Our Matangi icon represents the cycles of climate, land and human effort working together. It also represents life cycles — past, present and future —
the winds of change.

Rich and generous, this Chardonnay shows aromas of stonefruit, pink grapefruit and soft smoky oak. The palate is layered with citrus, summer fruits, toasted hazelnut and flint, finishing long and seamless.
Hand-harvested fruit is whole-bunch pressed and fermented with wild indigenous yeasts in French oak puncheons. A natural malolactic fermentation and time on lees add complexity and texture.
Grown with organic principles, in a cool, slow ripening single block at Whenua Awa, this wine balances power, elegance, and purity.
