Is this the most complex nose in whiskey right now? 🥃

Today we’re diving into a bottle that celebrates international craft: RD1 Spirits Sister Cities Limited Release. This unique blend of 5, 7, and 8-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Rye is finished with both French Oak and rare Japanese Mizunara wood.

The result? A “palate on overload” that transitions from creamy French vanilla and baking spices to a fascinating “70s hippie funk” of incense and sandalwood. If you’re a fan of wood-finished whiskey or looking for a bottle that tastes like a “warm hug,” this gold-medal winner (95 points!) is a must-find.

What we found in the glass:
* The Nose: Heavy vanilla, rye spice, and a fragrant floral bouquet.
* The Palate: Immediate punch of vanilla creaminess followed by floral Mizunara notes and black pepper.
* The Finish: A long, maturing finish reminiscent of pipe tobacco and incense.

Bottom line: If you can find the RD1 Sister Cities French Oak & Mizunara blend, grab it. It’s a masterclass in light-touch finishing.
